Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year!
I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year. I have been blessed to be part of St. Agatha School for 17 years. Over these 17 years, I have assumed the role of teacher, Assistant Principal, and now Principal. I want to communicate the joy I feel to be part of this community and to work with you and your children in a Christ-centered environment.
Consequently, Fr. Marcos Somarriba, our Pastor, and I would like to welcome the new faculty and staff:
- Isabel Avila - 5th grade teacher
- Julio Campos - Physical education teacher
- Christine Conesa - 4th grade teacher
- Christina Menendez - Padre Pio Program teacher
- Haley Ojeda - Middle school math teacher
- Barbara Mendoza - 1st grade teacher assistant
In addition, Lidia Parets will be returning to St. Agatha School in a new role. She will be working closely with me as the School Administrative Associate.
In conclusion, during this school year, we anticipate two important visits. Pope Francis will visit the United States (September 22 – 27) and the Florida Catholic Conference (FFC) will visit our school as part of the accreditation process (November 16 – 17). I pray that both of these visits bring us closer to God and strengthen the continued spirit of collaboration amongst our parents, students, faculty & staff. As Pope Francis states “This is important: to get to know people, listen, and expand the circle of ideas. The world is crisscrossed by roads that come closer together and move apart, but the important thing is that they lead towards God”.
I look forward to seeing you and your children on the first day of school: August 24, 2015!
